Iron Man

new-iron-man-movie-poster_278×417.jpgIron Man was probably one of the best action movies of its kind that I have seen. Marvel movies are usually very tasteless and appeal to only a narrow audience, but this film is an exception. The film is about a millionaire by the name of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) , who also happens to be a technological genius. He made his fortune with his father’s weapon company and after being kidnapped in the middle east and escaping with the help of an awesome metal suit,

I am Legend- many questions arise

Filed under: My reviews — Hodgepodge @ 6:24 pm

i-am-legend-poster_1.jpgOn the surface, I am Legend, starring Will Smith, is a good film. The special effects are, well, effective, and a lot of the scenes are intense, keeping you on the edge of your seat. This movie is a remake and adaptation. It is the third movie adaptation of the same title novel by Richard Matheson, that was originally published in 1954 (a friend of mine actually read it). The novel’s plot line is varied somewhat since the disease is vampirism and Neville was not a scientist by profession, but became one to figure out a cure.

The story line will soon be quite exhausted, though. I mean seriously, how many movies have you already seen or heard of where a disease plagued man kind and the few remaining have to survive in a harsher world (and not just I am Legend remakes)? However

movie_goldencompass.jpgI don’t often get a chance to give a bad review but this is my first opportunity. Visually speaking The Golden Compass was a stunning film (and it should have been considering the amount of money invested in the picture), but I have read the book of the same title, on which this movie is based, and although I don’t particularly consider myself a diehard fan, I was disappointed by the major alterations made to the story line. Furthermore,

My Review of Enchanted

Filed under: My reviews — Hodgepodge @ 2:13 pm

enchanted.jpgTrying to be witty, I shall say that Enchanted was an enchanting movie. It is cross between a Disney Princess classic and all those movies about young people trying to make it in New York City and getting some street smarts. The story goes that Giselle (played by Amy Adams) is a fair maiden from a Disney animated classic who fell in love with her prince (played by James Marsden) after only one day the two are about to get married. However

Under the Tuscan Sun

Filed under: My reviews — Hodgepodge @ 7:03 pm

1175.jpgUnder the Tuscan Sun is a delightful movie about a writer who tries to find happiness again when she goes through a painfull divorce. Starring Diane Lane, Sandra Oh, and other wonderful actors, this movie is a good story about how the heart can heal and happiness can be found again. This film is based very loosely on the book Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes. In the movie, Frances goes on a tour of Tuscany when …
