Oct 20 in the movie history

Oct 20 is a birthday of:

Viggo Mortensen, an actor, who had a rather long history of supporting roles in the movies of famous directors like Peter Weir, Tony and Ridley Scott, Jane Campion – and was a relatively well-know name in the movies, until he’s been chosen for the role of Aragorn in Peter Jackson adaptation of “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, which made him famous world-wide. His passionate, brave, loyal Aragorn, who has transformed from an obscure lone ranger into the King of Gondor, had been a perfect match for Tolkien novel’s hero.

Incidentally, the last part of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, “The return of the King”, has been published on this day 50 years ago, in 1955
