My trip to Hollywood Part 3

I almost missed the Universal Studios tour, but when I was just about to go on to the lower part of the park I’ve noticed this sign and, of course, ran over to take my place on that train (tram? Bus? Don’t remember what they’ve called it, but it was a nice a smooth ride). Ron Howard introduces the tour on the small LCD screens hanging in the front of each car and off you go to see all these studio sets (the modern ones, like that of the movie “Munich”, mostly from behind, they don’t let you in there). It was cool to see the Bates motel and house from Hitchcock’s Psycho (ve-ery scary movie!),  the cardboard figure of Anthony Perkins lurking in the window – nice touch!

My trip to Hollywood Part 2

Animal Planet show ended and after wandering the numerous street sets for another 20 minutes I finally got to Cyberdine Systems building (yes, that’s right!), where the Terminator 2 3D show was just about to start. I was not quite sure what to expect. It turned out to be quite a show with live actors, starting with the “Cyberdine Systems PR Director”, greeting the public with the phony presentation about the rosy future ensured by all these glorious machines from Cyberdine (like we don’t know how that’s ended!) . :icon_wink:

My trip to Hollywood Part 1

On Feb. 12  I’ve finally visited the Universal Studios in Hollywood, a long planned trip I really wanted to do in 1993, when I was in California the first time, but the tight schedule of that trip did not allow for it. Having visited the Universal Studios park now I realize that I would not have been able to see a lot of cool attractions in 1993 – like Terminator 2 3D experience and Shrek 4D, simply because they were not made yet. “Jurassic Park” was also just released in 1993, so it would not be yet included in the park – I wonder what did they have there at that time? The park was probably twice smaller than now! :icon_wink:
